Although the project scope was modest, its complexity stemmed from collaboration hurdles. The client’s team struggled to define clear expectations, frequently adjusted scope and timelines, and aimed to minimize vendor involvement due to budget constraints — even taking on parts of the work themselves.

At the same time, the primary stakeholder was a seasoned ServiceNow administrator, which required SPOC to balance technical depth with flexibility, and to ensure alignment between best practices and the client’s own approaches.

Building the Solution

SPOC delivered a structured implementation of CMDB, Discovery, and Certificate Management supported by integrations and automation:

  • CMDB & Discovery

    Automated CI lifecycle, location assignments, and reporting dashboards; defined CI classes and IP ranges; configured discovery schedules, credentials, and error-handling.

  • Integrations

    Set up SC Connector for SolarWinds and implemented reconciliation rules to ensure data consistency.

  • Certificate Management

    Enabled automated certificate discovery, notification workflows, and task creation for administrators to improve monitoring and security.
